A Crow in a Crowd | Louise Hislop
Information
Louise Hyslop spent her early years in Hertfordshire before being uprooted to Ayrshire and then North Wales. After studying geology at Newcastle University she moved with her husband to Northumberland, where they brought up their two sons. Her interests range from gardening for wildlife to the study of solitary bees and wasps. She lives close to the River Tyne, but still dreams of escaping to the mountains which were her first love.
'Louise Hislop's poems are clear and luminous as spring water. She celebrates the natural world as ever-changing and beautiful in supple, evocative images. From early memories reconfigured in adulthood, these poems, far-seeing and honest, speak of love in many shades and guises. This collection shines more distinctly with each reading. It is a gifted and delighting read.' - Pippa Little
