Postbox Magazine has two submission windows each year. For the Spring issue, the window opens on the 15th November and closes on the 31st December. For the Autumn issue, the window opens on the 15th May and closes on the 30th June. Please don’t send anything to the magazine editor outside these dates.
We’ve looked again at our submissions guidelines, and decided that while the majority of stories
published will be between 1,000 and 2,000 words long, each issue may contain one story up to 3,000
words long. Submissions may be for either category or for both, if you send more than one story. Up
to three stories may be sent.
How to submit your work
Submissions should be sent as email attachments to email@example.com. They should be
text only; no illustrations or sound files. Contact details, including address and email, with a
short relevant biography, should be sent in the covering message. Submissions can come from
authors or their agents.
Submissions must be the original work of the author.
Stories must not have been published before, either in print or in digital form. This includes
websites, blogs or social media.
The standard word length for submissions is between 1000 and 2000 words, not including title. Each
issue will have space for one longer story of up to 3,000 words.
Stories should be submitted in .doc or .docx formats only. No other formats will be accepted.
They should be set in 12 point Times New Roman, double-spaced, A4. Pages should be numbered.
Author’s name and word count should be given at the foot of the last page.
The editor’s decision is final. No correspondence can be entered into.
Due to Covid-19 and serious illness, the publication plan is running seriously behind
and is now full until 2024. Therefore, submissions are for Postbox magazine ONLY. Please do not submit poetry, novels, novellas or shortstory collections. Thank you.
