Information
Anne Hine is a nun, a Sister of the Society of the Sacred Heart, who lived in the North-East for thirty years. She started writing in the early 90s and her first Pamphlet, Dark Matters, was published by Vane Women Press and appeared in 2001. She has continued writing using the situations of life to reflect upon.
'Interior reveals a spiritual dimension not just through the eyes of a nun, but through sympathy with pagan mystics. A Celtic poet dies face down "that her gifts might not escape/ but grow again." A West African enters a trance: "His middle distance gaze/ pierces the ninety seven layers/ we do not see." The house is cleansed. This is poetry as profound meditation to depths we never guessed.' - S. J. Litherland
