Issue 11 | Spring 2025 | Postbox Magazine
Info
‘I was a wee bit concerned that Postbox might have lost momentum following delays in publication of issues due to my serious ill health last year.
I thought of Issue 10 almost as a relaunch, with new editor Samuel Tongue and being published almost a year late due to my illness. Short-story writers and readers showed great interest which is vital to a small press and I now have only a handful of copies of Issue 10 remaining. Printing costs have increased due to Russia invading Ukraine in February 2022 (both wood pulp suppliers), Brexit and the increase in transport costs. Sadly, several small presses have ceased to exist and there don’t seem to be many new ones starting up lately which, of course, I completely understand. High-quality printers are essential and a great printer (not mine) sadly went into liquidation recently and some sources claim that a printer is ceasing to trade every week. In supporting small presses, you also support printers, typesetters, designers. Thank you again for your continued interest and support for my independent self-funded small press, imprints and magazine, it really is appreciated.’ — Sheila Wakefield, Founder/Editor, Red Squirrel Press | Postbox Press
