Ian Davidson is a poet and critic, and Professor of Modern and Contemporary Literature at the University of Northumbria at Newcastle upon Tyne. He regularly publishes through monographs and journal articles. He has published four full length poetry collections and a number of pamphlets. His work has appeared in magazines in the UK, USA, Canada and Australia and intranslation in Italy, Latvia and Slovakia. He co-edited the magazine Skald from some years, and now co-edits the pamphlet series Gratton Street Irregulars. He was poetry editor of the journal English until recently.
